The weight your people handle, how often, and for how many hours per shift.
Conditions on site, for example cold storage or explosive atmospheres.
For picking operations, the dimensions of electric pallet trucks (EPT) are considered so that stepping on and off the vehicle stays smooth.
Where a device can be sold and used, and which sectors it is suited to.
What you want to achieve, for example productivity or comfort, and the budget available. Budget plays an important role in what can be recommended.
Any features you treat as must-haves.
Each device’s technical specifications are read in relation to the use case you choose. For a shoulder exoskeleton, for example, the lifting angle matters for the task.
Your video adds a posture screening using RULA, overall and for seven body regions.
Three stages, always in this order.
Devices that cannot be used in your situation are removed, for example because they are not available in your country or not suited to your sector, environment or vehicles.
Devices whose support cannot safely cover the load you handle are removed.
The remaining devices are ranked by how well their attributes match your task, how intensively the device will be used and your requirements.

The posture screening helps validate what kind of exoskeleton is most likely to be needed.
In some cases the result also helps show whether an exoskeleton is needed in the first place.
The RULA score rates the seriousness of the ergonomic problem with an internationally recognised method.
A recognised method behind the recommendation makes the process easier to check and to trust.
The RULA score is an automated screening estimate from a single video. It is not a certified ergonomic assessment and does not replace a risk assessment by a qualified person.
A recommendation says which device fits your task best on paper. It does not prove that the device reduces injury risk at your workplace. That is what a trial is for.
DGUV Information 208-062 (October 2025) recommends trying exoskeletons at the actual workplace and evaluating the result. Ryggo’s Deploy & Decide programme lets you do that with one or several devices for 2, 4 or 8 weeks. If a device does not fit, you can return it for a partial refund (up to 75, 70 or 60 percent, depending on trial length). If it fits, the trial fee counts towards the purchase.
